This is a story about some yahoo who registered several domains to spread his story about developing Peritoneal Mesothelioma after having Laser Hair Removal in Washington DC. For some reason he thought Wisconsin Lemon Laws were in his favor and he'd soon get a huge settlement paid with Best Buy gift cards. It turns out he should have had temporary medical insurance. Now he is looking for a Personal Injury Solicitor.

28 Mar 2006 @ 06:01 by Ge Zi @24.126.93.187 : make lawyers pay
When I read this earlier I could not help myself to make Google (and some webmasters) some money, and make the lawyers pay for it - just had to type in the #1 search term and then click on each and every sponsored link of the leeches - am I contributing to the click fraud trouble Google is in?

28 Mar 2006 @ 16:26 by ming : Clicks
I couldn't help myself either looking for some of my own pages that might respond to those keywords, to see if I might feel tempted to click on one of them and make 50 bucks. Like, I found that I had a page about "mesothelioma" in my copy of Wikipedia. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any of those expensive google ads on it. Only stupic generic ones, like "Bid on mesothelioma on eBay!", which I'm pretty sure wouldn't pay that kind of money. So I guess AdWords is pretty smart on figuring out which pages they belong on. Like, none of them showed up on this page here, even though I listed all those keywords there.

yeah, and even if it would have been on your pages, somehow Google seems to be pretty smart on finding out who clicks on an ad. When testing that out I did click on adds from a different computer and they were counted (did not make 50 bucks, just 39 cents though), but then from that same computer I checked my adsense account and after that my ckicks showed up in the stats but they did not make any money any more. They probably also have methods in place to catch these hordes of 'users' in India who I can hire to click on google ads on my web sites ;-)
